Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough preliminary interviews with clients and synthesizing information from consultations to effectively document their mental health progress.

• Performing comprehensive evaluations of clients’ emotional, behavioral, and psychological states to inform treatment approaches.
\n
• Designing and implementing tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, familial groups, and wider community settings, ensuring they reflect best practices in mental health care.

• Leading individual and group therapy sessions that utilize evidence-based practices, fostering a safe and conducive environment for healing.

• Monitoring and reviewing clients’ progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as needed in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

• Working in partnership with psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers during follow-ups for clients requiring additional support after hospital admissions.

• Recognizing and addressing potential barriers to recovery, facilitating proactive plans to mitigate these challenges.

• Offering guidance to family members and caregivers to enhance their understanding and management of mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse array of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other mental health challenges. Our focus on remote therapy enhances access for many individuals who may face obstacles to traditional in-person counseling, such as geographical limitations or mobility issues. Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker-R (LCSW-R) in the state of New York.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling with a patient-centered approach.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage documentation effectively.

• Understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as substance use disorders, to provide comprehensive care.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Knowledge of the impact of pharmacotherapy prescribed by medical professionals on participants' mental health.
\n
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to facilitate effective client interactions.
