The Grey Remedies Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Champaign, Illinois. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work within an outpatient setting, providing you with the opportunity to make a significant impact on the mental health of our diverse client population. In this vital role, you will conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, create detailed treatment plans, and facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to help clients navigate their mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document cases systematically from initial consultations through to treatment completion.
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health status to identify the most effective pathways for recovery.
• Develop individualized and group intervention plans that are sensitive to the needs and circumstances of each client.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe and supportive environment for sharing and healing.
• Continuously monitor clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving therapeutic goals.
• Collaborate closely with other mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to craft comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Maintain communication with psychiatrists to ensure holistic care for patients who require medication management alongside therapeutic interventions.
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement proactive strategies to mitigate these challenges.
• Support and guide family members and primary caregivers in effectively managing mental health challenges associated with their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work at Grey Remedies will primarily involve engaging with adults dealing with various mental health disorders, ranging from anxiety and depression to more complex conditions such as PTSD and addiction. You will have the unique opportunity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own life experiences and challenges. Understanding these individual narratives is critical to developing effective treatment plans that foster healing and recovery.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Currently holds a valid license as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
• Successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor is preferred.
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with addressing physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction issues.
• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals and their implications on counseling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information succinctly and empathetically.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a genuine desire to help others.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient settings, particularly in remote therapy environments.
• A background in working with specific populations such as adolescents, veterans, or those dealing with substance use disorders.
• Participation in continued education and training in cutting-edge therapeutic methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
