Pain Management Nurse Practitioner - Full-Time Onsite Position

The Winter Haven Pain Management Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Ellicott City, Maryland. This full-time position focuses on delivering exceptional pain management medical care to a diverse patient population. The Nurse Practitioner will maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records while collaborating closely with medical assistants, lab technicians, and physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite within a hospital setting in Ellicott City, MD, where you will be an integral part of a collaborative healthcare team. You will work four ten-hour shifts during weekdays without the requirement of weekend hours, allowing for a work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations to assess pain-related conditions.
• Order and conduct diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, as well as collaborate with physical therapy when necessary.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic impressions, continually monitoring the efficacy of interventions.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families, addressing their specific needs and enhancing their understanding of pain management strategies.
• Facilitate appropriate referrals to specialists and manage incoming requests for medication refills, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
• Administer trigger point injections, joint injections, and occipital nerve blocks, employing ultrasound guidance when indicated.
• Review monthly prescription monitoring reports and radiology/lab results to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Take responsibility for being "on 2nd call" during non-clinic hours on a rotational basis with fellow providers.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will work with a broad spectrum of patients facing various chronic pain conditions. This includes individuals suffering from back, neck, joint, and neuropathic pain, with a focus on providing tailored interventions that address each patient’s unique challenges. Qualifications

• Board-certified as a Family and/or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• A Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies is required to ensure a strong foundation in advanced patient care.
• At least one year of experience in pain management is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) Certification and a current, unrestricted DEA license are mandatory.
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is necessary to maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Comprehensive understanding of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA regulations is required to ensure compliance and patient safety.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, complemented by a friendly and compassionate demeanor.
• Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are preferred to better serve our diverse patient population.

Preferred Experience

In addition to the required qualifications, candidates with prior experience in pain management will be favored. This includes familiarity with various pain management techniques, the ability to work with a team collaboratively, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 165,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Additionally, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
