Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the needs of clients, utilizing various assessment tools and methodologies.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals and objectives, regularly reviewing client progress.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions through modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and others tailored to the client's specific situation.

• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support sessions, fostering a sense of community among clients and providing tools to manage their mental health.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care for clients, fostering a holistic approach to treatment.

• Provide crisis intervention as needed, offering immediate support to clients experiencing acute psychological distress.
\n
• Educate clients about mental health conditions, their treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of therapy sessions and assessments, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Core Life Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse range of clients drawn from various demographics, including children, adolescents, and adults facing mental health challenges. Your work will involve tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual or family you support, ensuring inclusivity and cultural competency in treatment.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Strong working knowledge of a variety of mental health disorders and therapeutic modalities, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in practice.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting mental health assessments and developing treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.

• Proven track record of delivering both individual and group therapy to clients from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

• Sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology, enhancing the efficiency of client management.

Preferred Experience\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology will be viewed favorably.

• Experience working in a community health setting or with outpatient mental health services.

• Additional certifications in specialized therapeutic techniques (e.g., Trauma-Informed Care, Play Therapy) are a plus.
