Opportunity Summary
The Executive Chef is expected to be a working chef and not solely an administrative chef, and will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, including menu development, kitchen leadership, banquet execution, and food quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead kitchen operations for daily dining and special events
- Design seasonal menus reflecting member preferences and local flavors
- Controls food costs, ordering, and inventories
- Hire, mentor, train, and manage back-of-house staff with a focus on professionalism and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with Hawaii Board of Health food safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and club service standards
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director and Events Team to execute high-quality member events
- Meet all communication deadlines for Banquets, Weekly Specials, and Special Events
- Consistently Lead, motivate, train, and inspire the entire Culinary Staff to ensure a professional and healthy working environment
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of culinary leadership experience, ideally as an Executive Chef in a private club or upscale hotel setting
- Strong culinary skills with attention to flavor, presentation, and consistency
- Excellent time management, communication, and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with Hawaiʻi’s local ingredients and culinary traditions preferred
