Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a school in Henderson, Nevada, where you will work collaboratively with educators, school nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The work environment promotes an engaging atmosphere that encourages children and their families to seek and receive health care services. Enjoy a structured work schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours a week, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while making a significant impact in the lives of young patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions among students.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that cater to the distinct needs of each child, factoring in their medical history and lifestyle.
• Prescribe necessary medications and therapies, and order diagnostic tests to ensure accurate evaluation and management of health conditions.
• Educate students and their families on maintaining healthy lifestyles, which includes disease prevention, nutrition, and physical activity.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including school counselors and administrators, to enhance overall wellness programs and coordinate student care.
• Maintain meticulous electronic health records that reflect all patient interactions and ensure timely and thorough documentation of care provided.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to elevate care standards while adhering to established clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Stay current with evolving healthcare practices and regulatory standards to ensure compliance and excellence in service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Adult Nurse Practitioner, you will primarily interface with school-aged children and young adults, providing comprehensive health care tailored specifically to their needs. You will also extend your support to their families, ensuring that health education and resources are accessible to improve overall family health dynamics. Your work will not only address immediate health issues but also foster a culture of wellness that focuses on long-term health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active certification as a Nurse Practitioner and a valid state nursing license in Nevada.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; a Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a primary care setting is essential.

Compensation and Benefits
