Work Environment

This position is primarily an onsite role, delivering care directly within the home environments of our patients. This unique setting allows you to create personalized therapeutic experiences, adapting treatments to fit within the familiar surroundings of each patient. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physiatrists, and nursing professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients in their homes, analyzing their physical abilities and identifying areas requiring attention.
• Establish and implement individualized treatment plans, utilizing various therapeutic modalities such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and assistive devices to facilitate recovery.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on best practices for rehabilitation, including exercise routines, proper body mechanics, and guidelines for using assistive devices effectively.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on treatment strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation best practices through continuous professional development activities, including workshops, seminars, and peer networking.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal disorders. The age range of patients can vary widely from children to the elderly. A strong focus will be placed on enabling them to regain independence, alleviate pain, and enhance mobility.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in Florida.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an orthopedic setting.
• Current CPR certification required to ensure the safety of all patients.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home care settings is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with computerized documentation systems and electronic health records.
• Advanced training in specific orthopedic therapies or certifications will be a plus.
