Position Overview

Little Hands Pediatric PT Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This role focuses on providing high-quality physical therapy services directly within our outpatient facility located in the heart of Appomattox, Virginia. Work Environment

You will work onsite at our outpatient office, equipped with the latest tools and therapeutic modalities to facilitate effective treatment. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy interventions to prevent disabilities, relieve pain, and promote recovery by improving mobility and functionality in pediatric patients.
• Assess and evaluate clients' physical abilities and limitations through systematic testing of muscle strength, joint range of motion, and functional skills.
• Develop and modify individualized care plans based on patient needs, progress, and ongoing evaluations, ensuring alignment with physician prescriptions.
• Supervise and guide physical therapy assistants in the provision of therapy services, ensuring adherence to established treatment protocols and care plans.
• Conduct home assessments to identify potential barriers to rehabilitation, recommending environmental adjustments to enhance patient independence.
• Document and maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead and participate in interdisciplinary discussions to evaluate collective treatment strategies and improve patient outcomes.
• Educate and train patients and their families on therapy exercises, adaptive equipment, and overall health practices to support self-management and recovery.
• Stay informed on developments and innovations in pediatric physical therapy to continually refine treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role centers on providing rehabilitation services to children facing physical challenges due to congenital conditions, injuries, or developmental delays. Our focus is on delivering care in a friendly, engaging environment that empowers both children and their families to participate actively in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing in the state of Virginia.
• Certification in CPR and valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient care, and collaborative teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills with the capacity to engage effectively with children and their families.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric setting is preferred, we also welcome applications from newly graduated therapists eager to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Compensation and Benefits
