Work Environment

This position is based onsite at patients' homes within the Appomattox community, allowing therapists to engage with patients in a familiar environment. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations to assess patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries in their home settings.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches, including therapeutic exercise, stretching techniques, hands-on therapy, and the use of assistive equipment.
• Track and document treatment progress meticulously, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
• Regularly reassess patients to modify treatment plans as necessary, adapting goals to reflect patients' evolving needs and progress.
• Recommend and assist patients with obtaining necessary assistive devices for daily living and ambulation.
• Educate and train patients, caregivers, and family members on therapeutic activities and proper procedures for using assistive devices.
• Engage in continuous learning through workshops and professional networks to enhance clinical expertise and keep updated with evolving therapeutic techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse patient population, including seniors recovering from orthopedic surgeries, children with developmental delays, and adults managing chronic conditions. The focus is on understanding each patient's specific situation, capabilities, and goals, striving for improvement in mobility, pain reduction, and overall physical wellness. The therapist's role is crucial in establishing trust, providing encouragement, and empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Valid Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure to practice physical therapy in the state of Virginia.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and families.
• Proficient in utilizing computer systems for documentation and patient tracking.
• A high degree of flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic home care environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in home care settings is a plus, showcasing the ability to work independently and make critical decisions on-site.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills.
