Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, restoring function, and maximizing patients' performance capabilities.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of care plans and adherence to therapeutic protocols.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of the client's physical abilities by applying diagnostic tests that gauge muscle, nerve, joint function, and overall mobility.
• Assess the client's home environment to recommend modifications that promote independence and safety during rehabilitation.
• Administer specialized treatments, including therapeutic exercises and physical modalities like traction and massage, to facilitate patient recovery.
• Regularly document clinical records, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, maintaining compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and devise comprehensive treatment plans while collaborating with physicians and case managers regarding patient progress.
• Provide education and consultation to clients and their families on the use of therapeutic devices and overall physical therapy programs.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of clinical documentation and payroll records per branch policies.
• Stay accessible to Physical Therapy Assistants during client treatments for guidance and support.
• Complete additional assignments as required to align with the organization's goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves working with a diverse population of patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, neurological injuries, and chronic pain conditions. As you engage in one-on-one therapy sessions, you will customize treatment plans that address the unique challenges and goals of each patient. Your expertise will empower patients to regain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
• Current PT licensure in good standing within the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
• Possession of current CPR certification and demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster patient engagement and collaborative teamwork.
• Exemplary decision-making skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure scenarios.
• Proficiency in federal and state regulations governing physical therapy practices.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in outpatient settings focused on rehabilitation and recovery.
