As a mental health counselor working within an outpatient office framework, you will engage with clients via virtual platforms. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct culturally sensitive, strength-based assessments for new patients and their families to understand their unique needs and perspectives.

• Provide tailored individual and family therapy sessions based on identified needs and treatment goals.
\n
• Complete essential paperwork, including billing, documentation, individualized treatment plans, and insurance authorization forms, within established time frames.
\n
• Develop thorough crisis plans, safety plans (when needed), relapse prevention plans, and wellness strategies to support patients in maintaining their overall stability.

• Create personalized discharge plans that ensure continuity of care and support clients in their recovery journey.
\n
• Adhere rigorously to all current federal and state laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, ensuring compliance and ethical practice.
\n
• Participate in ongoing professional development through training and continuing education to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
\n
• Engage actively in case consultations and agency meetings to foster a collaborative treatment approach.
\n
• Complete all required licensure and mandatory training to ensure the highest standard of care delivery.

Qualifications\n

• Education: A Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field is required, resulting in eligibility for licensure.

• Licensure: Candidates must hold a valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in a mental health setting, particularly in outpatient services, is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices is beneficial.
