Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at Peaceful Harmony, you will:

• Deliver flexible mental health counseling to arrestees and community members experiencing crises, using effective de-escalation tactics to mitigate volatile situations.

• Collaborate closely with law enforcement to provide training on best practices for addressing mental health episodes, aimed at reducing reliance on forceful interventions.
\n
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations on-site, working hand-in-hand with police officers to determine the need for 5150/5585 applications for involuntary psychiatric detention.
\n
• Coordinate transportation services and assist in locating available beds in mental health facilities or homeless shelters.
\n
• Maintain precise and detailed records of patient interactions while ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations.
\n
• Work alongside third-party entities, including the Department of Mental Health and various psychiatric facilities, to perform follow-up case management and patient check-ins.
\n
• Provide immediate crisis counseling to individuals in need and contribute to building a more robust community support network.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your clients will include a diverse group of individuals in crisis situations, including those recently arrested who may be experiencing acute mental health episodes. You will play a pivotal role in advocating for these individuals, ensuring they receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve. Qualifications\n

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Counseling, Psychology, Social Work).

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) certification from the State of California.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with colleagues, law enforcement, and community partners.

• The ability to remain calm, professional, and focused in high-pressure or tense situations.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experiences are advantageous:

• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Compensation and Benefits\n
