Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference working with elementary students with significant support needs in a welcoming educational setting near Montrose, CO. This full-time contract position runs for the entire 2026-2027 school year, starting August 12, 2026. As a Special Education Teacher in the Significant Support Needs (SSN) program, you’ll play a vital role supporting learners with moderate to severe disabilities, delivering individualized instruction, and guiding a dedicated team of paraprofessionals.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing specialized, evidence-based instruction tailored to students with significant support needs
• Creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs to reflect each student’s unique strengths and goals
• Utilizing effective behavioral intervention strategies and individualized supports
• Collaborating seamlessly with paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families
• Tracking student progress and maintaining thorough compliance and progress documentation
• Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning

Skills and experience desired:

• Active Colorado Special Education License, or eligibility for Colorado licensure via reciprocity
• Background working with students with moderate to severe disabilities is highly valued
• Well-developed behavioral management and classroom support techniques
• Experience supervising and training paraprofessional staff is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation abilities
