Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students with significant needs. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work with a dedicated caseload of 6th-8th graders, providing essential support in an inclusive and collaborative environment. With a manageable caseload and supportive staff, your expertise will directly benefit students’ educational journeys.
Your schedule will run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:40 am to 3:50 pm, and Wednesday from 9:40 am to 3:50 pm, offering a consistent work routine throughout the week. This assignment begins immediately and may extend through late May.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license—please provide a copy upon submission
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly those with significant support needs
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for interaction with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative spirit and adaptability in a dynamic school setting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of five students in a supportive classroom
- Design and modify curriculum based on IEP goals
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress and behavior
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that meets the academic and social-emotional needs of your students
