Make a real difference in the lives of middle school students as a paraprofessional, supporting a small group of learners with significant support needs. This rewarding contract opportunity is conveniently located near Edwards, CO, with two immediate openings extending through late May. You’ll work closely with a tight-knit team and receive the satisfaction of seeing your impact each day.
As a valued member of the school community, you’ll provide essential assistance in academic, behavioral, and daily living activities to students ranging from 6th to 8th grade. Build connections and help create an inclusive educational environment in a classroom designed to offer meaningful, individualized support.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, especially within school settings
- Ability to foster patience, positivity, and engagement with students who have significant support needs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, and students
- Adaptability to support individualized learning plans and changing classroom dynamics
- Commitment to maintaining a compassionate, inclusive, and structured learning space
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students one-on-one and in small groups under the direction of classroom teachers
- Assisting with lesson implementation, behavioral interventions, and classroom routines
- Facilitating daily living tasks and promoting student independence
- Collaborating with educational staff and following individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Encouraging student participation and reinforcing positive behaviors
This position offers the opportunity to work Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:40 AM to 3:50 PM, and Wednesday from 9:40 AM to 3:50 PM, for a total of 35 hours per week. Competitive hourly compensation of $54.00 is offered for qualified candidates.
