Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity serving students in grades 6 through 8 as a Special Education Teacher supporting a classroom focused on Significant Support Needs. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact over a caseload of just five students, allowing for individualized attention and growth. The assignment is set to begin immediately and extends through late May, providing structure and continuity for both educator and students.
You’ll work a full-time week of 40 hours, with school days from 8:40 am to 3:50 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and a slightly later start on Wednesdays from 9:40 am. The established schedule allows for work-life balance while creating a predictable routine for the classroom community.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license (please provide documentation with your application)
- Experience supporting grades 6-8, preferably in a Significant Support Needs setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Dedication to fostering growth and confidence in learners with various abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement specialized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Guide and support students academically, socially, and emotionally
- Track student progress and adapt instruction as necessary
- Communicate regularly with families and teams regarding student development
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
