Administrative Specialist II - Marion Correctional Institution

Agency Adult Correction Division COO – OPS – Institutions Operations Job Classification Title: Administrative Specialist II (S) Position Number: 60058017 Grade: NC09 Description of Work This position is located at Marion Correctional Institution, Marion, North Carolina. Marion Correctional Institution is a close‑custody prison housing male offenders with a maximum capacity of 793. The role reports to the Administrative Officer and is responsible for performing the full range of Administrative Officer duties during leave or absence, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures. Responsibilities Perform the full range of Administrative Officer responsibilities during periods of leave or absence, ensuring compliance with agency policies, procedures, and established deadlines. Supervise staff and oversee accounting, trust fund, mailroom, and warehouse operations. Manage fixed assets and inventory procedures in compliance with departmental and state policies. Maintain confidential records and sensitive information while ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with NCDAC policies. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the organization. Qualifications Minimum education and experience: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred skills: Documented knowledge of Correctional Fiscal Policy and Procedures.
