Lead Software Engineering - Python Infrastructure

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational support.
• Proficiency with back-end technologies such as Python, Flask, or Django, and experience building microservices; full-stack roles also require front-end skills such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or Angular.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting services with Java and Spring or Spring Boot.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; distributed systems; and web technologies, including RESTful APIs, web services, WebSockets, and JSON.
• Experience designing and building scalable applications with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with agile methods such as Scrum and an understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile engineering practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated proficiency with software applications and technical processes in a discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technology.
• Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, or troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency requirements; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant practices and controls.
• Preferred: presentation, negotiation, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills; strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities; and a track record of sharing best practices and contributing to broader impact.
• Preferred: experience in banking and AWS certification.

• Develop creative software solutions, design and build systems, and troubleshoot technical issues using approaches suited to complex problems.
• Deliver end-to-end cloud-native applications built on microservices, applying current technologies and industry practices.
• Apply domain modeling to create business products and structure software for clarity, testability, and ongoing evolution.
• Write secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to automate or eliminate remediation to improve application and system stability.
• Lead software engineering communities of practice, promoting awareness and adoption of emerging technologies, and contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and respect.
• Design and build scalable architectures that avoid single points of failure, support reliable and secure operation, enable zero-downtime releases, and optimize data performance.
• Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Establish measurable validation standards, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and encourage reuse of proven patterns and automation across the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
• Use software development life cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale.
