Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, utilizing telehealth services to facilitate therapy sessions and support for our clients. Working from the comfort of your own home, you will foster meaningful connections with families and children through virtual platforms. Our telehealth facility is equipped with secure technology that ensures privacy and facilitates a seamless experience for both therapists and clients. In addition to remote work, you are expected to maintain flexibility in scheduling, particularly for after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM, with possible weekend availability.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions via telehealth, focusing on a holistic approach to treatment that addresses both children and caregivers.

• Develop treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals, ensuring documented progress through intake assessments and progress notes.
\n
• Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving coping skills, anger management abilities, and social skills, thereby reducing high-risk behaviors like self-injury (SIB) or physical aggression.

• Provide education to primary caregivers on effective decision-making strategies to manage in-home behavioral challenges, fostering a supportive family environment.
\n
• Work collaboratively with other professionals on the Child Family Treatment Team to coordinate care and share insights about client progress, contributing to team meetings and case discussions.

• Submit accurate documentation within designated timeframes to ensure compliance and facilitate seamless service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role concentrates on providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents ages 3-20 who face developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with families to create a nurturing therapeutic environment that promotes growth and resilience. Your interventions will directly aim to empower these youth by developing their individual strengths and supporting their overall mental health journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.

• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New Jersey is mandatory.

• Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish or Portuguese are strongly preferred to optimize accessibility for diverse families.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for potential in-community visits, even though this role primarily operates through telehealth.

• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
