Position Overview

TheraSense Movement Rehab & Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and motivated Licensed Physical Therapist to join our expanding team in Jersey City, New Jersey. Our practice is primarily patient-focused, with a large segment of our clientele covered by private insurance, allowing us to uphold our mission of providing personalized and affordable rehabilitation services.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our modern rehabilitation facility, where we promote a supportive atmosphere that fosters teamwork and continuous professional development. With a dedicated team consisting of two licensed physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant, we are committed to creating a cohesive work environment that emphasizes both patient outcomes and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patient conditions to identify individual goals and treatment needs.
• Manage a patient caseload effectively, typically treating one patient at a time for one-hour sessions.
• Develop and implement customized care plans utilizing a variety of treatment techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Deliver cost-effective treatments that effectively enhance clients' range of motion and mobility, while aiming to minimize reliance on medications and invasive surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient progress diligently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment services accurately in our electronic medical record software, particularly WebPT.
• Motivate and empower patients throughout their treatment journey, encouraging a proactive approach to recovery and wellness.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to optimize patient care through a unified approach.
• Educate patients about healthy lifestyle choices that support recovery, including strength training, flexibility, balance, and coordination programs.
• Conduct regular assessments and communicate progress to both patients and the wider healthcare team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our facility primarily caters to individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. This includes post-operative rehabilitation as well as preventive care programs designed to enhance physical performance and reduce the risk of injury. Our diverse patient population seeks personalized attention and tailored treatment that addresses their specific needs and lifestyle goals.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT).
• Current and valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
• Clear professional record with no history of board or disciplinary actions.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a demonstrated ability to develop effective exercise protocols.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Ability to operate and maintain electronic medical records using WebPT or similar software.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting, ideally in a similar role within a private practice.
• A history of demonstrating the ability to achieve measurable patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.
• Proven track record of effective collaboration within a healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
