Work Environment\n

This remote position allows for flexibility while ensuring that our therapists can effectively engage with their clients through teletherapy platforms. You will collaborate with an experienced group of child psychiatrists and fellow counselors, participating in regular virtual meetings and case discussions to coordinate care. You’ll have access to a robust electronic health record (EHR) system to manage client assessments and follow-ups efficiently. The practice operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological and emotional needs of children and adolescents in various developmental stages.

• Create and implement tailored treatment plans that take into consideration individual family dynamics and the unique circumstances each young patient faces.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, and family systems therapy, aimed at resolving mental health concerns.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers in fostering supportive environments for their children.

• Work in a collaborative manner with child psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure a comprehensive and integrative approach to care.

• Provide crisis intervention services when necessary, offering immediate support for families dealing with mental health emergencies.

• Educate young patients and their families about various mental health conditions, treatment options available, and community support resources.

• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards while maintaining accurate, confidential documentation of client interactions.

• Actively contribute to team discussions and professional development opportunities, staying updated on current research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 years who are experiencing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depressive conditions, ADHD, and behavioral issues. Your work will make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young individuals and their families by providing compassionate care and helping them develop coping strategies.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York state.

• Strong understanding of child and adolescent developmental psychology and mental health disorders.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with children and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, with a track record of delivering individual and family therapy in clinical settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000, reflecting the expertise and dedication required for this role.
