Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in coordination with law enforcement to assess the need for 5150/5585 applications for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and short-term counseling for individuals experiencing mental health episodes, with a focus on non-violent patients.

• Work closely with police officers during live responses to mental health crises, ensuring safe and effective interventions.

• Educate and train law enforcement personnel on best practices for managing mental health crises, with an emphasis on reducing the use of force.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Facilitate communication between various stakeholders, including law enforcement, crisis stabilization units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists, to coordinate patient care and resources effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license.
