Work Environment

This position is based in our state-of-the-art Surgical Center located in Paterson, New Jersey. You will be working a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, with eight-hour shifts each day, ensuring a healthy work-life balance without weekend commitments. Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in the Orthopaedic Surgery department, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering comprehensive advanced practitioner care to orthopaedic patients, including providing diagnostic evaluations and preventative care.
• Conducting thorough patient examinations and developing appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings, lab results, and radiology reports.
• Taking detailed patient histories and facilitating prescriptions, along with ordering required therapies.
• Assisting in surgeries and complex procedures under the direct supervision of attending orthopaedic surgeons, gaining hands-on experience with essential surgical techniques.
• Managing patient care throughout the orthopaedic care continuum, including inpatient services, consultations, pre-procedural evaluations, and post-procedure follow-ups in both hospital and outpatient settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will provide care to a diverse patient population, ranging from individuals with acute sports injuries to chronic musculoskeletal conditions requiring comprehensive management. This position emphasizes patient engagement, education, and collaboration to ensure the best possible outcomes. By understanding and monitoring your patients’ progress, you will play a crucial role in their recovery and overall wellbeing visualizing their personal health journey.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New Jersey and national certification.
• A valid DEA certificate, to be obtained within three months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare team members, and stakeholders.
• Strong judgment skills to astutely assess and meet patient needs during care delivery.

Preferred Experience

Candidates should ideally have:

• A minimum of one year’s clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, specifically in orthopaedic specialty care.
• Experience in performing various orthopaedic procedures and managing urgent referrals.
• Recent clinical experience in wound care.
• A willingness to learn and assist in surgical operations under supervision.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $120,000 to $160,000, along with potential bonuses based on performance.
