Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and screenings to accurately evaluate student mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.

• Deliver short-term individual counseling and provide crisis intervention for students facing various emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, and interpersonal issues.

• Facilitate therapy groups and workshops focused on critical topics such as stress management, resilience building, and effective communication skills, promoting peer support and personal development.
\n
• Collaborate closely with academic advisors, residential life staff, and student organizations to create a interconnected support system for students.
\n
• Lead outreach initiatives and prevention programs such as mental health awareness campaigns, wellness fairs, and interactive workshops, enhancing the overall student experience and increasing community engagement.

• Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with ethical and legal standards, using our integrated electronic health record (EHR) system to track progress and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will engage primarily with college students who face diverse mental health challenges. Your ability to build rapport and trust among a culturally varied population will be essential. Understanding the intricacies of young adulthood, from academic pressures to personal identity exploration, will enable you to provide impactful support tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications\n

• An active license as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
\n
• A demonstrated understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by a collegiate population.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and brief therapy models suited for a university counseling center environment.

• Strong organizational skills and the capability to manage a varied caseload effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working within a higher education counseling center or similar community-oriented setting.
