Teacher, Middle School Math - Title (2026-2027 School Year) Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026 Salary: Minimum $62,750 (Based on 2025-2026 Pay Scale) Job Title: Middle School Title Teacher-Math (2026-2027 School Year) Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Pay Grade: Teacher Salary Scale Primary Purpose: The Middle School Title I Teacher is responsible for implementing the District’s instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated in accordance with District goals, policies and procedures. The Middle School Title I Teacher collaborates with other members of the school community in their efforts to prepare students to increase their academic performance to meet state standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited College or University Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned At least one year of student teaching or approved internship Preferred Five years of successful classroom experience. Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of subjects assigned General knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Major Responsibilities and Duties Teach in accordance with staff assignment and display effective teaching practices. Complete effective lesson plans with immediate and long‑range goals and develop lessons appropriately. Use time effectively, choose appropriate materials and activities, present subject matter clearly and interestingly. Coordinate and plan with team members and librarian to provide an effective library experience for students. Administer the classroom to create an environment conducive to learning, organize procedures for effective classroom management, arrange the assigned area efficiently, provide flexibility for individual and group activities, practice positive discipline techniques, maintain a positive attitude toward students, and supervise behavior and safety of students in classes and during school‑related activities on and off campus. Cooperate with school personnel to provide student welfare, work with counselors, administrators, parents and other staff to place students in the most effective educational setting, instruct students in school safety and emergency drill procedures, participate in special activities and programs for students and parents. Initiate communications with parents, inform parents about programs, raise awareness of problems, keep parents informed about student progress. Cooperate with appropriate program director, department chair, and other school personnel. Administer an appropriate record‑keeping system: maintain accurate records for student evaluation and progress, attendance, textbooks, materials, funds, parent contacts, conferences, disciplinary measures, and referrals; meet required record‑keeping format and timelines effectively. Exemplify professionalism in behavior and performance, cooperate with staff and administrators, share work willingly, work with team leaders and principal to improve; maintain a positive attitude toward the teaching profession, promote understanding of District programs and policies, remain current in education and instruction through literature, workshops, conferences, professional organizations, and college courses; adhere to the Texas Education Code of Ethics and support the District’s philosophy. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned. Working Conditions Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. Funding This position is funded by Federal and/or State grants. Employment is expressly conditioned on the availability of full funding. If full funding becomes unavailable, employment may be subject to termination, nonrenewal or reassignment.
