Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Brookhaven, NY. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive advanced practitioner care to orthopaedic patients under the guidance of attending physicians, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of clinical practice.
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including taking histories, performing physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results to formulate treatment plans.
• Administer therapeutic and procedural care, including writing prescriptions and managing patient flow through various stages of care, such as pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
• Provide surgical assistance during procedures, utilizing your skill in both routine and complex operations while learning under the supervision of experienced surgeons.
• Engage actively with patients across their orthopaedic journey, coordinating care during inpatient admissions, consultations, and outpatient appointments.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will have a direct impact on a diverse patient population with a wide range of orthopaedic needs, including sports injuries, degenerative conditions, trauma recovery, and more. As a Physician Assistant, you will help navigate patients through their treatment pathways, ensuring their comfort and understanding at every step. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• National certification as a Physician Assistant, with active DEA certification required within the first three months of employment.
• At least one year of clinical experience as a PA in orthopaedic specialty care.
• Demonstrated competence in conducting orthopaedic procedures and wound care management.

Preferred Experience

• Recent clinical experience specifically in orthopaedic procedures and managing urgent referrals from the community.
• A background in surgical assistance, with demonstrated ability to perform tasks under direct physician supervision in an operating room setting.

Compensation and Benefits
