Unified Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at our Surgical Center in Brookhaven, New York. This full-time position focuses on delivering top-tier outpatient care in a primary care setting. With an annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000, the successful candidate will play an integral role in diagnosing, treating health conditions, and educating patients to promote health literacy.

Work Environment

This role is based at our onsite Surgical Center in Brookhaven, NY. The facility features a modern, welcoming environment designed to support both patient comfort and healthcare excellence. As a Physician Assistant, you will work 40 hours each week from Monday to Friday, with hours primarily concluding at 5:00 PM. Collaboration among healthcare professionals is encouraged to foster a dynamic and supportive work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, you will undertake a variety of critical responsibilities, including:

• Conducting thorough physical examinations and reviewing patient medical histories to ascertain health status.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as blood analyses and imaging studies, to identify medical conditions.
• Diagnosing both chronic and acute illnesses while developing individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribing medications, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and schedules to uphold our commitment to quality care.
• Communicating effectively with patients about their health status, treatment options, and prescribed medications.
• Providing educational resources to patients and their families regarding disease management and prevention protocols.
• Monitoring and supervising patients’ overall health to ensure optimal care outcomes.
• Contributing to the ongoing development of health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
• Engaging in continuing education and research initiatives to enhance clinical knowledge and application.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on managing the health of adult patients with diverse medical backgrounds in a primary care context. You will work closely with individuals suffering from various chronic conditions, acute issues, and those seeking preventive care. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is preferred.
• Possession of a valid California State Physician Assistant license.
• Active certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and a valid DEA number.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
• In-depth knowledge of health regulations, clinical practices, and patient care protocols.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication skills and a strong ethical foundation.

• Bilingual proficiency is advantageous but not required.

Preferred Experience
