Heritage Therapeutic Services is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our specialized Pain Management team. In this full-time role, you will work onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in Brookhaven, New York. Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of patients experiencing various types of pain, including acute and chronic conditions. You will review medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests as appropriate.
• Treatment Planning: Develop comprehensive treatment plans that may involve medication management, referrals to physical therapy, and interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
• Procedures and Support: Assist in performing medical procedures under the supervision of physicians, including epidural steroid injections and joint aspirations, while ensuring patient comfort.
• Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with clear and actionable information regarding their conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies, empowering them to participate fully in their healthcare.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring that all patient interactions and treatment plans are well-documented.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will cater to a varied population with diverse healthcare needs, ranging from individuals with post-surgical pain to those suffering from chronic conditions such as arthritis or neuropathic pain. You will engage with patients from different backgrounds, understanding their unique challenges and tailoring approaches that meet their individual circumstances.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure/certification as a Physician Assistant is required to practice in New York.
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills, with an ability to work under the supervision of licensed physicians.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively educate and interact with patients and their families.
• Ability to collaborate seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to varying clinical situations.

Preferred Experience

• At least two (2) years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in Pain Management or a related specialty.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting patient assessments and formulating treatment plans.
• Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and maintaining proper documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 150,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with performance-based bonuses.
