Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations for patients presenting with various chronic pain conditions. This includes reviewing medical histories, performing detailed physical examinations, and assessing pain levels to formulate an accurate diagnosis.
• Treatment Planning: Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to create tailored pain management plans. You will integrate a variety of therapies such as medication management, physical therapy, and interventional procedures like epidural injections and nerve blocks.
• Patient Education: Provide in-depth education to patients about their pain conditions, available treatment modalities, and self-management techniques, empowering them to participate actively in their care.
• Procedural Assistance: Assist in performing interventional procedures under physician supervision, while prioritizing patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Follow-up Care: Monitor patients’ progress and modify treatment plans as needed, offering ongoing support, counseling, and encouragement to optimize their recovery and well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adults experiencing chronic pain due to various conditions such as arthritis, neuropathy, and post-surgical issues. Many of these patients have chronic pain that significantly affects their quality of life, requiring a compassionate approach and tailored treatment strategies.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or an equivalent program from an accredited institution.
• Current licensing as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
• A genuine commitment to delivering compassionate patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Certification in Pain Management or a relevant specialty is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
