Work Environment

This position will be based at our state-of-the-art surgical center located in Brookhaven. The working environment is designed to foster teamwork and open communication among our staff. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and examinations of pediatric patients presenting with acute or chronic pain conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans alongside physicians and other healthcare providers, ensuring personalized care for each child.
• Administer injections and other therapies as prescribed, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
• Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques, medication usage, and lifestyle modifications beneficial to their condition.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay current with pediatric pain management trends, guidelines, and technologies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in clinical research projects as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to enhance patient pathways and optimize clinic operations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be primarily focused on treating children, including infants to adolescents, with a range of pain conditions. Our clinic is committed to addressing the needs of diverse patient backgrounds, including low-income and ethnic minority communities. Sensitivity and cultural competence are essential as you work with families to build trust and deliver effective care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and an active state license to practice.
• At least one year of clinical experience in a pediatric or pain management setting.
• Candidates with certification obtained prior to the Master’s degree requirements, combined with the requisite hands-on experience, will be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present clinical information effectively.
• Proficiency in navigating regulations and policies relevant to healthcare documentation.
• A commitment to providing compassionate care and ensuring patients feel heard and respected.
• Demonstrated ability to work in compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a pediatric outpatient clinic or pain management specialty.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
