Work Environment

This position is onsite at our hospital facility in Brookhaven, New York. The work environment is both dynamic and supportive, allowing healthcare professionals to thrive in their roles. You will enjoy a structured schedule with hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant in Pain Management, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a range of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients presenting with pain-related symptoms, using established clinical guidelines.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies to inform treatment plans.
• Prescribing appropriate non-narcotic medications and physical therapy regimens tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Scheduling and coordinating interventional procedures, ensuring that all logistics are managed effectively.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting findings and adjustments to treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Addressing patient questions and concerns, providing education on pain management strategies and techniques.
• Participating in team meetings and case discussions, contributing insights for improving patient care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with a diverse patient population, including individuals suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. You will be responsible for assessing patients with a wide range of medical histories, enabling you to craft personalized treatment plans that consider underlying health issues and patient preferences. Your ability to foster trust and deliver compassion will be pivotal in enhancing patient engagement and adherence to treatment.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related health field.
• Active state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Proven proficiency in conducting comprehensive physical examinations and diagnosing a variety of health conditions.
• Strong foundational knowledge in pain management principles and best practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, making informed decisions in clinical situations.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, especially within a pain management or similar healthcare specialty.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance documentation and communication.
• Experience with interventional pain procedures is a plus, though not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
