The position will be filled by a Job Appointment.
This position is responsible for the program management and executive coordination of high-visibility veteran support initiatives, special projects, and mission-critical functions that directly advance the agency's statutory obligations and strategic goals. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment, manages cross-functional initiatives, ensures compliance with state and federal requirements. and serves as a principal advisor to senior leadership on program performance and policy implementation. An ideal candidate should posses the following competencies:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. Job Duties:
- Partners with the Military Family Assistance (MFA) Fund Administrator to administer the financial hardship assistance program, including application processing, eligibility determination, applicant communication, and case management. Prepares briefings, recommendations, and decision packages for the MFA Board; tracks approved awards through final payment and ensures audit readiness. Serves as a subject-matter expert on MFA statutes, regulations, and policies.
- Serves as the deputy liaison (and primary liaison, as needed) for the Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal Program, coordinating all phases of the program, including application processing, award production, ceremony logistics, statewide medal distribution, and historical recordkeeping.
- Assists in administering Title 29 Student Aid Educational Benefits by verifying eligibility, issuing official certificates and correspondence each semester, maintaining accurate program records, and providing administrative support for veterans and eligible dependents pursuing postsecondary education.
