Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable & Receivable)

Herbert Financial is a rapidly growing accounting, tax, and financial services firm committed to providing exceptional service to individuals and businesses. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to manage our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions while supporting the daily accounting operations of our firm.

Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
- Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts.
- Maintain accurate vendor and customer records.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor statements.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Prepare journal entries as needed.
- Support the accounting department with financial reporting and administrative tasks.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and digital records.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, clients, and internal staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in an accounting or CPA firm is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience working with accounting software and document management systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
