About the Role

My client is a distribution company looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to manage the full vendor payment cycle and keep our books accurate and on time. You'll work closely with the accounting team, department heads, and vendors to make sure invoices are processed correctly, payments go out on schedule, and records are clean for month-end close.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and code vendor invoices to the correct GL accounts and cost centers
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents (2- and 3-way match) and resolve discrepancies
• Enter invoices and process payment runs (check, ACH, wire) according to payment terms
• Maintain vendor master files, including W-9s, banking details, and contact information
• Reconcile vendor statements and research past-due or disputed items
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries about invoice and payment status
• Process employee expense reports and verify compliance with company policy
• Assist with month-end close, including accruals, AP aging reports, and account reconciliations
• Support 1099 preparation and year-end audit requests
• Help maintain internal controls and suggest process improvements

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's degree or coursework in accounting/finance preferred
• 1–3 years of accounts payable or general bookkeeping xhyhwjd experience
• Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or similar)
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Clear, professional communication with vendors and coworkers
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
