Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's and adolescents' mental health needs through interviews, standardized tests, and observational methods.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that reflect the unique developmental and emotional needs of each patient, considering their familial and social contexts.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family therapy, aimed at effectively addressing cases of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to strengthen the caregiving environment by engaging parents and guardians in the treatment process.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other health professionals to provide comprehensive care, ensuring all aspects of a patient’s well-being are considered.

• Provide crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies to ensure the safety and immediate needs of children and their caregivers are met.

• Educate families about mental health conditions and available treatment options, equipping them with essential knowledge and resources.

• Maintain detailed and confidential records of therapy sessions and progress notes, adhering to legal mandates and ethical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents facing a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges. Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT is mandatory to practice in New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health services, especially with child and adolescent populations, is preferred.

• Strong foundational knowledge of common mental health disorders affecting children and adolescents and familiarity with evidence-based treatment techniques.

• Experience in conducting individual and family therapy, coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• The ability to build trusting relationships with patients and their families through empathy and a strong child-centered therapeutic approach.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and a basic understanding of relevant computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n
