Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable ClerkAbout the RoleMy client is a distribution company looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to manage the full vendor payment cycle and keep our books accurate and on time. You'll work closely with the accounting team, department heads, and vendors to make sure invoices are processed correctly, payments go out on schedule, and records are clean for month-end close.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive, review, and code vendor invoices to the correct GL accounts and cost centersMatch invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents (2- and 3-way match) and resolve discrepanciesEnter invoices and process payment runs (check, ACH, wire) according to payment termsMaintain vendor master files, including W-9s, banking details, and contact informationReconcile vendor statements and research past-due or disputed itemsRespond to vendor and internal inquiries about invoice and payment statusProcess employee expense reports and verify compliance with company policyAssist with month-end close, including accruals, AP aging reports, and account reconciliationsSupport 1099 preparation and year-end audit requestsHelp maintain internal controls and suggest process improvementsQualificationsHigh school diploma required; associate's degree or coursework in accounting/finance preferred1–3 years of accounts payable or general bookkeeping xhyhwjd experienceWorking knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or similar)Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas)Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbersGood organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesClear, professional communication with vendors and coworkersAbility to handle confidential financial information with discretionFind out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.
