Human Resources Specialist

In this role, you will manage the day-to-day HR functions that keep our organization running smoothly, including onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, leave management, reporting, and training. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys owning a broad range of HR operations and ensuring our people processes are accurate, compliant, and well-run. What You'll Do Prepare offer letters and compensation packages, and manage new hire onboarding, paperwork, and orientation Process timesheets and payroll, and administer health insurance and Simple IRA enrolments, changes, and annual audits Manage FMLA and other leave requests, and coordinate employee leave programs Support employee relations, assist with disciplinary matters, and administer the annual performance review process Ensure HR compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Prepare required filings and reports, including EDD, EEO, OSHA, and workers' compensation reports, and issue annual W-2 and 1099 forms Coordinate required employee training, including sexual harassment prevention training Develop and maintain quality job descriptions and HR documentation Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience 3-5+ years of professional HR generalist experience Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits Working knowledge of federal and California employment law, including FMLA/CFRA, wage and hour, and leave requirements Experience with HRIS and payroll systems Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting HR functions in an aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environment Experience administering Simple IRA or other retirement plans Experience preparing EDD, EEO, and OSHA reports Experience coordinating workers' compensation claims and insurance audits PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capability.
