Experienced Physician Assistant for Urgent Care at Core Care Medical Services

Position Overview

Core Care Medical Services is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant specialized in urgent care to join our dynamic team located in Jacksonville, Florida. This full-time position is held onsite at our state-of-the-art medical facility within the hospital setting, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality healthcare. You will utilize your expertise in a fast-paced environment to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urgent health conditions while educating patients on preventative healthcare measures.

Work Environment

The work environment at Core Care Medical Services is vibrant and collaborative, encouraging teamwork among healthcare professionals. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, starting at 5:00 pm, encompassing a total of 40 hours per week, allowing for optimal work-life balance. You will interact closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, all dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and support for each other and our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including thorough physical examinations and review of medical histories.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, such as blood work and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and manage various acute health issues and illnesses, utilizing evidence-based practices to provide exceptional patient care.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for chronic disease management, ensuring continuity of care.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and monitor patient responses to ensure effectiveness and manage side effects.
• Maintain precise and organized documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with healthcare regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Oversee the overall health and well-being of patients, promoting wellness and preventative care through proactive engagement.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and research to continually enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will serve a diverse patient population with a broad range of urgent care needs, including adults and children facing acute episodes, injuries, and other non-life-threatening conditions. Your ability to communicate effectively and empathetically will make a significant impact on patient satisfaction and health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
• A valid State Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and current DEA number are mandatory.
• Proven experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly in urgent care, emergency rooms, or fast-paced clinical settings.
• Strong knowledge of primary care and acute care practices, as well as health regulations.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Demonstrated ethical standards and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
• Ability to manage stress and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a hospital or urgent care setting is highly preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication capabilities with our diverse patient population.
• A track record of engaging in continuous learning and staying updated with the latest clinical practices.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience. Core Care Medical Services offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
