Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients with mood disorders, evaluating the intensity, frequency, and duration of their symptoms to establish baseline metrics.

• Collaborate with clients to create and implement customized treatment plans that align with their individual goals and therapeutic needs.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address the unique needs of each client.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to promote self-management skills.

• Monitor client progress and regularly review and adapt treatment plans based on evolving needs and outcomes.

• Work in conjunction with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to client treatment.

• Maintain comprehensive, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in ongoing training, case discussions, and professional development sessions to remain current with best practices in therapy.

• Advocate for clients' mental health needs to reduce stigma and promote an inclusive recovery journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role involves working with individuals experiencing a variety of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our clientele also encompasses marginalized and vulnerable groups, such as those struggling with homelessness, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse. Therapists play a crucial role in providing tailored support and guidance to help these individuals navigate and overcome their challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) .

• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is required.

• Demonstrated ability to establish strong therapeutic relationships with clients, exhibiting excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Exhibit empathy and a nonjudgmental stance, while understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences of clients.
