Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews to establish a clear understanding of client needs.

• Develop, implement, and adjust personalized treatment plans based on ongoing assessments of clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques that facilitate healing, insight, and skill development.

• Continuously monitor clients' progress and adapt intervention strategies as necessary, ensuring effective treatment outcomes.

• Collaborate with other mental health specialists, healthcare providers, and support teams to create integrated treatment approaches tailored to each client.

• Provide timely follow-up with referring psychiatrists and attend to any necessary adjustments in clients' treatment protocols during hospital admissions or emergency situations.

• Educate clients and their families about mental health tools and techniques to help them manage and understand behavioral challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will engage with a diverse population, including individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds and life experiences. Your work will primarily support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. The multifaceted nature of the clientele requires counselors to take a holistic approach tailored to each person's circumstances, promoting effective coping strategies and emotional resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited university.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven experience as a mental health counselor is essential for navigating complex client needs effectively.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for maintaining accurate client documentation.
\n
• An understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions and their impacts on treatment.
\n
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to convey sensitive information clearly and empathetically.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.

• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications, their implications, and management strategies to support overall client health.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that allow for building rapport with clients and fostering collaborative therapeutic relationships.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, accompanied by a sign-on bonus.
