A contract opportunity is now available for a Special Education Teacher with a passion for behavioral support, working closely with a small group of elementary students. This rewarding role focuses on guiding four students—ranging from 1st to 3rd grade—who require comprehensive behavioral interventions.

The ideal candidate is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment and brings a wealth of experience in working with students who exhibit severe behavioral challenges. CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training is highly valued in this position, as it will enhance your effectiveness and confidence in managing challenging situations positively.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (required)
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with severe behavioral needs
• CPI or equivalent de-escalation training strongly preferred
• Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Professional approach to collaborating with teachers, staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction, adapting lessons to address unique behavioral and academic needs
• Foster a safe, accepting, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with support staff and administration to develop and monitor positive behavior support plans
• Employ evidence-based interventions and de-escalation techniques
• Track student progress, communicate regularly with families, and advocate for student needs
