Work Environment\n

This position allows you to work remotely from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of a supportive team. We serve patients at a hospice center in Los Angeles, California, where we aim to meet their emotional and psychological needs during challenging circumstances. We understand the importance of flexibility, so although the primary hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional adjustments may be necessary based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine patients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans that reflect their unique circumstances.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to deliver impactful therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, and families.

• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups tailored to specific mental health concerns, creating an inclusive environment where participants can share and learn together.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate robust patient care and ensure a holistic approach.

• Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing mental health emergencies, guiding them toward immediate care or resources.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, outlining treatment options and relevant community resources for ongoing support.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and progress in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

In your role, you will focus primarily on adult patients facing significant mental health challenges. Many of these individuals are dealing with the complexities of serious conditions, often in the context of receiving hospice care. Your approach will involve sensitivity and empathy, fostering trust and providing reassurance as you work together toward therapeutic goals.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and active license as a Mental Health Counselor in California.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
