Work Environment\n

This role takes place entirely within a remote telehealth environment. Counselors will utilize secure video conferencing software and electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to connect with clients, document progress, and manage treatment plans efficiently. The flexibility of telehealth allows counselors to provide care in a manner that best fits the needs of each individual client, promoting accessibility and comfort.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough initial consultations to evaluate mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Documenting case histories and ongoing treatment progress using electronic health record systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
\n
• Developing and executing individualized intervention and recovery plans for diverse populations, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitating engaging therapy sessions, both individually and in group settings, that empower clients to overcome obstacles to their mental health.

• Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary, providing ongoing support and encouragement.
\n
• Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Following up on care with clients recently admitted to hospitals or in need of additional support.
\n
• Identifying and addressing behavioral patterns that may impede recovery, while actively engaging clients in preventative strategies.

• Providing guidance and support to family members and caregivers to help them navigate mental health challenges.

As a licensed mental health counselor at Inner Calm Counseling Center, you will have the opportunity to work with clients who are seeking a path to recovery and enhanced mental well-being, tailoring your approach to fit their unique needs.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• Successful completion of the necessary examinations, including passing scores on the NCE and/or NCMHCE.
\n
• Minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in a telehealth context.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health records, specifically AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment plans.
\n
• Strong understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts in accessible terms.

• Empathic and supportive nature, with outstanding interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in group therapy facilitation and specialized interventions.

• Familiarity with treatment methodologies for various mental health disorders, with a focus on evidence-based practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n
