In this role, you will engage with clients through teletherapy as well as in-person sessions at our outpatient office located in San Jose, California. Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Genesis Counseling Center, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting therapy sessions with couples, providing joint sessions followed by individual sessions as necessary.
\n
• Evaluating and diagnosing clients using evidence-based methodologies to develop personalized treatment plans.
\n
• Addressing a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to:

• Alcohol and substance use disorders.
\n
• Domestic violence and various forms of abuse.
\n
• Grief and loss counseling.
\n
• Family conflicts, including sibling rivalry and communication barriers.
\n
• Adjustment and emotional support during separation and divorce processes.
\n
• Working with blended families post-remarriage.
\n
\n
• Providing therapeutic interventions to enhance coping skills while facilitating family dynamics to improve overall well-being.
\n
• Documenting sessions and maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with adults as well as children and adolescents, addressing mental health issues that span from anxiety and depression to family dynamics and relationship challenges. Your role is vital in empowering families to achieve healing and foster resilience, creating a supportive environment where every member can thrive.

Qualifications\n

• Active California state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
\n
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience in a similar role, preferably in outpatient settings.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

It is preferred that candidates have experience working with diverse populations and be knowledgeable about evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Systems Theory approaches. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and best practices for remote therapy will enhance your ability to connect with clients effectively.

Compensation and Benefits\n
