Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information The position is situated in a 20-bed unit designed to accommodate medical-surgical and step-down patients, focusing on short stays of less than 24 hours. General Information Location: Asheville, NC Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with mixed levels of care Staffing: Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs Patient Ratios: 1:5 to 1:6, depending on level of care Equipment: Telemetry monitoring for patients as needed; patients are hardwired to bedside monitors. Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner Typical Responsibilities Providing direct patient care and monitoring in a telemetry environment. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care. Assisting in the management of patients transitioning from higher to lower levels of care. Qualifications Required Skills: Telemetry competency Progressive Care experience Preferred Skills: Recent experience in a progressive care setting Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required Personal Attributes Positive attitude and commitment to patient experience Kind, compassionate, and a strong team player Additional Information Floating Requirements: Candidates may be required to float to other units as needed.
