Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function.
• Evaluating patients' levels of function through comprehensive assessments that involve diagnostic tests focused on muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Developing tailored rehabilitation plans that consider each patient's individual needs and home environment to promote independence.
• Administering prescribed physical therapy services and manual therapeutic exercises, while guiding patients through non-manual exercises and activities.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Providing patient education on the use of therapeutic devices and overall physical therapy practices to empower clients and their families.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants during their interactions with patients, ensuring compliance with state laws and best practices.
• Engaging actively in team meetings to discuss case progress and evaluate holistic treatment approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients of varied backgrounds, including those recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will work closely with a diverse patient population, providing individualized care and rehabilitation strategies that align with their personal goals and challenges.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of New Jersey, maintaining good standing throughout your practice.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety and preparedness.
• A strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on clinical excellence.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interactions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

Preferred qualifications include:

• At least one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Understanding of state and federal regulations applicable to physical therapy practices.
• Leadership experience in mentoring or guiding Physical Therapy Assistants is an added advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
