Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing you to conduct sessions from the comfort of your home environment, while also providing outpatient services in community settings. You will primarily engage in in-home therapy sessions or group sessions in our outpatient center, ensuring that you can reach clients where they feel most comfortable and safe. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions focused on the specific needs of children and families dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

• Implement therapeutic techniques that promote anger management, coping skills, and social skills development while working to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.

• Assist caregivers in improving decision-making skills and strategies to better manage behavioral challenges that may arise in the home environment.
\n
• Engage in collaborative practice with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to enhance the support network for the youth and families under your care.
\n
• Documentation is essential; you will submit all required client records, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a timely and organized manner.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to review cases, share insights, and provide recommendations that can improve the quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will serve a diverse client population, including children aged 3 to 20, who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). Our focus is on providing compassionate and effective therapeutic interventions that cater to the unique challenges faced by these children and their families. You will play a crucial role in fostering resilience, improving behavior, and enhancing the overall quality of life for your clients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Must possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle is required for conducting in-home sessions.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory prior to employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of experience in a therapeutic setting, particularly with children and families.

• Experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, as we encourage bilingual therapists to apply for this position.

Compensation and Benefits\n
