Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a positive impact working with students as a contract Occupational Therapist in the Washington, DC area, supporting two middle schools for the full academic year. This part-time opportunity offers flexible hours—ideal if you’re seeking a role that complements a clinical position. Starting August 3rd, you’ll collaborate with caring educators and a dedicated support team to provide essential services for an assigned caseload.
What You'll Need:
- Active Occupational Therapy license for Virginia.
- Recent experience working in school-based or pediatric OT settings.
- Capacity to initiate required credentialing (VA Dept. of Social Services check and TB test) promptly.
- Strong organizational skills to support students with diverse needs.
- Commitment to providing direct therapy and consultative services to middle-school age students.
- Ability to travel to two assigned schools within the district (potential for an elementary school addition).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy to approximately 10 students and consultation services for 15 additional students.
- Conduct evaluations as needed throughout the school year, adapting interventions to meet IEP goals.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, and families to maximize student success.
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date records and adhere to all district, state, and federal guidelines.
