Perspectives in Healing is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team in Houston, Texas. Work Environment

This onsite role is situated within a vibrant and dynamic school setting, allowing you to engage with young individuals and their families. Working standard business hours from 9 am to 5 pm, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive health care team that values mental health integration and promotes the overall well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations, ensuring accurate diagnoses of mental health conditions.
• Administer medication management, carefully monitoring patient responses and adjusting medications as needed to improve treatment efficacy.
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers and allied health professionals to offer coordinated and holistic care that addresses both mental and physical health needs.
• Provide crisis intervention services, assisting patients experiencing severe emotional distress with immediate support and resources.
• Engage in community outreach activities and educational initiatives, aiming to increase mental health awareness and reduce stigma within the community.
• Offer therapeutic support through individual and group counseling, utilizing psychoeducational methods to empower patients on their mental health journeys.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be serving a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, and their families in the Houston area. Our focus on trauma-informed care helps us to effectively support individuals who may be facing a variety of mental health challenges, ensuring that we respect their particular experiences and needs.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing is required, with specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a focus on psychiatric care is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building effective relationships with patients and collaborating with team members.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a community health center or comparable environment is highly desirable.
• Experience implementing integrated behavioral health practices will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline patient documentation and care coordination.

Compensation and Benefits
