Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to thoroughly assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting findings accurately from initial consultations through treatment completion.

• Evaluate and interpret assessment results to develop comprehensive intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, drawing on various therapeutic approaches to promote healing.
\n
• Regularly monitor clients' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers, to create unified intervention plans that address all facets of a client’s health.

• Maintain up-to-date communication with professionals involved in a client’s care, especially for those who may be hospitalized.
\n
• Proactively identify and prevent behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing clients and their families the tools to overcome challenges.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in navigating mental health issues within their loved ones, fostering family involvement in treatment.

As a mental health counselor at Dalton Counseling Center, you will work with a wide range of clients, including those dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and trauma-related issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.

• Previous experience in mental health counseling is essential; familiarity with community health clinic operations is preferred.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to manage client documentation effectively.

• A comprehensive understanding of addiction disorders and associated psychotherapeutic interventions is beneficial.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with various age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and families.

• Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that facilitate effective interaction with clients and other medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, with a sign-on bonus available for the right candidate.
